Military service
Burial/memorial information
On 5 April 1917, in Neuville-Saint-Vaast, France, while he was in first line trenches, Edgar suffered shrapnel wounds in the back, including his spine, which left him paraplegic. He was treated for almost one year in England and, in March 1918, was repatriated and hospitalized in Montréal. In September 1918, he was released from military service as permanently incapacitated and died of his wounds one year later at the Montreal General Hospital.
