Baptized Louis-Joseph-Albert Asselin. Son of Thadée Asselin and Henriette-dite-Élisabeth Robert. Husband of Eulalie Sarrasin, of Montréal, Québec. He stated being born in 1888 when he enlisted.


Private Asselin was evacuated to the 22nd Battalion due to an appendicitis and was kept in England. He died of tetanus (lockjaw) Canadian General Hospital n° 12, in Bramshott, nine days after he wounded his hand on barb wire.
