Youngest son of Joseph Edward & Mary Carter of Auburn ON. John Edward was initially apart of the 161st Battalion from Seaforth, Ontario. When overseas John Edward was placed with the 58th battalion, where he was KIA on the 1st battle day at Passchendaele- Oct 26th 1917
