Son of Henry Larocque and Ludivine (Lividia) Massé, of Montreal, Québec. He had declared his birth date as the 27th when he enlisted.

He had previously served with the 22nd Battalion in Canada and deserted after six months of service when the unit was about to go overseas. Then, four months later, he re-enlisted with another battalion.

LOOS BRITISH CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France

Loos (Loos-en-Gohelle) is a village to the north of the road from Lens to Bethune. From Lens, take the N43 towards Bethune. Arriving at Loos, turn right at CWGC sign post. The LOOS BRITISH CEMETERY is about 1 kilometre from Loos Church in the southern part of the village.
