Additional information
He was named Joseph-Wilfrid Bourassa. Son of Wilfrid-Trefflé Bourassa (deceased in 1908 in the USA) and Marie Martineau dit St-Onge, of Louiseville, Mauricie, Québec. His mother remarried to Honoré Duval on 12 January 1918.

Enlisted in the 57th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force, he arrived in Liverpool, England, on 8 June 1916 and was posted the same day to the 69th Reserve Battalion. On 27 August, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion. From 18 to 20 September 1916, he was on loan to the 2nd Canadian Entrenchment Battalion. He was killed in action at around 1 a.m. on 25 December 1916 in the Meknes trenches, between Angres and Lens, Pas-de-Calais, France, by a 150 mm shell fired by German artillery.
