Additional information
Son of James and Katherine Carroll. Brother of Charles of Girvin, Saskatchewan. He stated he was single and that he was a carpenter. Pte Carroll is commemorated on the war memorial at the Kincardine Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. A photograph of him in uniform also hangs in the Legion Hall. Pte Carroll sailed from Halifax on board the S.S. Lapland on 21 October 1915 and landed in Devonport, England on 2 November 1915. He joined the 46th Battalion and was transferred to the 13th Battalion.
