He was the brother of Elsie Clingersmith of Blenheim, Ontario, William Clingersmith, who served in the First World War and Pte Roy Clingersmith, 19th Battalion, Canadian Infantry, (Central Ontario Regiment) deceased on 2 July 1916 buried at Bedford House Cemetery. H was single and his occupation was labourer. He is also commemorated on the Ridgetown Cenotaph.
