Peter Reid trimming a friends hair. Peter left his home in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland in 1910 and, following his arrival in Canada Peter worked as a Carpenter, met and become engaged to a young lady and on 1st November 1915 signed his Attestation Paper as Private 201889 Peter Reid. As part of the CEF Peter became part of the 95th Battalion and was sent to fight in the Somme. Peter was injured in his first battle and lay in no man's land, unable to move, for three days and nights before being found. Peter was nursed in a field hospital then returned to England's King George Hospital where he died 1 month after being injured. -
