The Soldiers' Tower
The Soldiers' Tower was built at University of Toronto between 1919-1924 in memory of those lost to the University in the Great War. Funds were raised by the Alumni Federation (now called the University of Toronto Alumni Association.) The name of "2nd Lt van R. S. van T. IRVINE R.A.F." is among the 628 names carved on the Memorial Screen, seen at photo left. Photo: K. Parks, Alumni Relations. -

Inscription inside Memorial Room, Soldiers' Tower, University of Toronto. The carillon was installed and dedicated in 1927. Originally, there were 23 bells. Alumni and friends of the University donated funds for specific carillon bells in memory of those who fell in the Great War. Dedications are carved high on the walls of the Memorial Room. Several dedications pertained to University College. Here we see the dedication for Bell XXIII "University College Alumni Association". Photo: K. Parks, Alumni Relations. -

ARRAS FLYING SERVICES MEMORIAL Pas de Calais, France
The Arras Flying Services Memorial is in the Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery, which is in the Boulevard du General de Gaulle in the western part of the town of Arras, near the Citadel, approximately 2 kilometres due west of the railway station.
