Burial/memorial information
Served with the Winnipeg Grenadiers (MG) - NPAM - from 1934 to an unknown date, then with the 1st Battalion of that regiment in Manitoba, in Jamaica with Y Force and in Hong Kong with C Force. He had 832 days of service, including 53 overseas.
To commemorate his sacrifice, the Manitoba government named Simpson Rapids located on the Big Spruce River in his honor in 1995.

Private KENNETH SIMPSON is one of 27 members of the Winnipeg Grenadiers, Royal Canadian Infantry Corps who are commemorated on this panel of the Sai Wan Memorial. He was one of 290 Canadian soldiers killed during the defense of Hong Kong, from December 8th to December 25th, 1941. -
