Librarians Know Best!

Many classrooms and libraries create thematic displays of remembrance related reading materials in the days leading up to Remembrance Day.

Ideas for linking Literacy and Remembrance:

  • Initiate a Remembrance Book Club or reading challenge for the month of November
  • Pair younger students with an older student to work as Remembrance Reading Buddies
  • Novel or book study: Divide the class into small groups. Each group reads a different book about Remembrance, and prepares a short presentation for classmates summarizing the book.
  • Remembrance book reports: Do book reports on different Remembrance books.
