Son of John George and Jane Goodwin Zachary, of "Norbrae," 37, Kirkliston Drive, Bloomfield, Belfast, Ireland.

His brother Charles Stepheson Zachary served during the First World War. He was a member of the 6th Royal Highlanders (Black Watch) as a corporal, then the 17th Royal Irish Rifles as a 2nd Lieutenant, then the Australian Imperial Force as a Driver in the Transport section.
