Brother of Catherine Drolet, of Montréal, Quebec and of Ludovic Drolet, of Windsor Ontario.
He stated he was born in Kenora when he enlisted.
Enlisted in the 222nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was assigned to the 233rd Battalion on March 3, 1916. From Halifax, Nova Scotia, he left for Great Britain, where he arrived on the 15th. On paper, he was assigned to the 10th Reserve Battalion on the 14th, to the 178th Battalion on the 17th, and transferred to the 22nd Battalion on May 27. On the 28th, he crossed over to France. From June 15 to July 2, 1917, he was loaned to the 2nd Canadian Entrenchment Battalion. On August 15, while serving with the 22nd Battalion, he was wounded in action by shrapnel that struck his lower left leg. He was evacuated to England on the 22nd. From March 28 to April 4, 1918, he was assigned to the 20th Reserve Battalion. He returned to the 22nd Battalion and went back to France on the 7th. He returned to the front line on the 8th. On August 27, 1918, he was killed in action during the Battle of Chérisy.

Wancourt is a village about 8 kilometres south-east of Arras. It is 2 kilometres south of the main road from Arras to Cambrai. The WANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY is a short distance south-east of the village just off the D 35 road.
