Private Walter James Taylor
Walter James Taylor was my Great-Grandmother's brother. He was a resident of Ottawa ON but enlisted in the 170th Bn (Mississauga Horse) CEF in Toronto.
He served in the 58th Bn CEF and was killed on 30 June 1917 at the battle for the Avion Trench.
In September 2016 while on a tour with veterans from the Grey & Simcoe Foresters I was privileged to visit La Chaudiere Military Cemetery and lay a wreath on the grave of my relative - a very touching moment.
From Walter James all the way down to my son, Patrick, five generations of our family have proudly served this country.
