Private Elmer James Winnihan
Elmer James Winnihan was my father, Jack E. Winnihan Wolfe’s, father. Jack was born in Bermuda on 1/16/1916, to Elmer and Ella Kempffer Winnihan. Elmer shipped to England/France, when my father was about 5 months old. Elmer was killed in action on 30, June, 1917, so my father never got to know him. Ella remarried in 1918, to William Harold Wolfe, who raised my father and who I knew as my grandfather.
