Son of McCully and Lida Bryson, of Hilden, Nova Scotia. Enlisted August, 1914. Brother of Lyle Whidden Bryson who went missing in action on April 9, 1917 while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Nova Scotia Regiment).

Lt. Elmer Clarke Bryson of Hilden, Nova Scotia, enlisted in the Canadian Army, 13th Battalion on August, 1914. Elmer was killed in action at Courcelette, France on October 8, 1916 at the age of 23 years. His remains are buried in France.

ADANAC MILITARY CEMETERY Somme, France
Miraumont is a village about 14.5 kilometres north-north-east of Albert and the Cemetery is some 3 kilometres south of the village on the east side of the road to Courcelette (D107). The ADANAC MILITARY CEMETERY is signposted in the centre of Miraumont.
