Son of Reverend George Petrie Duncan, of St. Andrew's Manse, Port Credit, Ontario and Helena Vicia Duncan (nee Goodwin). His brother Captain Alan Barrie Duncan, 75th Battalion, also fell on 29 November 1918.

Reference RG150, 1992-93/314, 174. Page 411 of 1062. He was buried in LE PLANTIN CEMETERY (WELSH CHAPEL), FESTUBERT. After the Armistice his body, and those of 3 other Canadian soldiers buried there were exhumed and buried in BROWN'S ROAD MILITARY CEMETERY, FESTUBERT.

BROWN'S ROAD MILITARY CEMETERY, FESTUBERT. Pas de Calais, France
Festubert is a village about 6 kilometres east of Bethune and BROWN'S ROAD MILITARY CEMETERY is a little south-west of the village and just west of the road from Festubert to Givenchy.
