Lt Robert Ross Hartman, originally from Aurora Ontario, enlisted in the 227th Infantry battalion in Sault Ste Marie, then joined the 102nd battalion and finally 11th Trench mortars. Exerpt from batt. records "On Sept 2nd Hartman was in charge of two Stokes trench mortars and was attacking German positions east of Dury, France. He was severely wounded in both legs by enemy machine gun bullets. Whilst a comrade was in the act of dressing him, a shell landed almost on top of them, killing both instantly.

DURY MILL BRITISH CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France
Dury is a village in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, 1 kilometre north of the straight main road from Arras to Cambrai (D939). Approximately 16 kilometres from Arras travelling towards Cambrai on the D939 is the Canadian Forces Memorial at Dury. 300 metres after the Memorial the Cemetery is signposted to the left towards Dury village. 200 metres from the D939 the cemetery is signposted to the left. It is located in open fields, and is approached along an unsurfaced track about 500 metres long.
