Born in Dover England on Jan. 5th 1900.
(He said he was born Jan. 5th 1898)
He first enlisted at age 16 with the 11th Canadian Mounted Horse at Victoria BC on April 29th 1916 he was later sent to the 72nd Battn. He listed his occupation as "Waiter" Herbert died on Dec. 26th 1918 of the Spanish flu at Vancouver BC at the age of 18. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC
