Grave of 101511 Pvt. William P. McGowan who served with the 231st Battn. C.E.F. Born in Greenoek Scotland on Jan. 29th 1889. William enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on March 23rd 1916 listing prior military service of 2 years with the Argyle & Suthern Highlanders (Special Reserves) He listed his occupation as "Laborer" William died at Vancouver BC on Feb. 15th 1920 at the age of 31. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC. -
