He was born in Glasgow Scotland on Feb. 9th 1896. Robert enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on March 23rd 1915, he listed prior military service with the 72nd Reg. Canadian Militia, he also listed his occupation as "Clerk". Robert died at Vancouver BC of the Spanish Flu on Feb. 6th 1919 just 3 days short of his 22nd birthday. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC
