Baptized Joseph-Raoul-Albert Barrette. Son of Louis Barrette and Marie-Louise Morin, of Montréal (Hochelaga), Québec.

He was wounded with grenade shrapnel in the trenches of Saint-Éloi, at Ypres, and he died the following day at the casualty clearing station in Poperinghe.
