A currently serving Canadian Forces member was recently given his great-great uncle's medals, and promptly tracked down the applicable plot. Seven months later, he found himself in Belgium, and made his way to the Ridge Wood Cemetery near Ypres to "present" the medals to Pte Farrell. Shown at the base of the stone, not yet mounted, are Pte Farrell's British War Medal and the Victory Medal, and the small form note that accompanied the medals when they were mailed, posthumously, to Pte Farrell's mother. -
