Son of William J. Simmons and of Theodosia E. Little (formerly Simmons), of Salem, Missouri. His next-of-kin was his friend of Mary Noseworthy of Kamloops, British Columbia.
His real name was Leonard Jackson Simmons and he is also commemorated on page 500 of the First World War Book of Remembrance.

Raillencourt is a village in the Department of the Nord, about 5 kilometres west of Cambrai on the main road to Arras, D939. The Communal Cemetery is located on the main road about 700 metres from the entrance to the village from the Arras side.
