Isaac, born May 7, 1817 in Belmafed, Tyrone, Ireland, would outlive his grandson, dying July 28, 1921 in Peel County. William had a young daughter, Esther, in addition to Bud. At the time of this photo, William and his wife Emma and their two young children lived across the street in a small one-storey house at 104 Victoria Avenue. It is of note that William's father, William James, at the age of 50, enlisted in the Canadian army shortly afterward, one of the oldest enlistees in the Dominion, explaining that "Any army good enough for my son is good enough for me."
