Gunner Clarence Edward Havens was born at Jacksonville, NB on 1 JAN 1892. He was the son of Samuel H. Havens. Edward enlisted in the Army at Quebec on 22 SEP 1914. He left for France on 11 FEB 1915 and was assigned to the 8th Battery 12th Brigade of Artillery. Edward participated in the battles of the 2d Ypres, 3d Ypres, 3d Artois, and along the Somme River which is where he was killed on 30 SEP 1916. -
