Admiral James Fenton was born on August 8th, 1894 in Southampton, Ontario. He enlisted in the CEF on September 23rd, 1915 in Southampton, listing his occupation as a chauffeur. He had no prior military experience. He is remembered on the Southampton Cenotaph. This war memorial includes plaques with the names of men from World Wars 1 & 2. The WWI list is inscribed: "In grateful remembrance of the men of Southampton who fought and died in the Great War". Southampton is in Bruce County, Ontario and is the oldest port on the Bruce Coast. This photograph was taken by Mr. Clive Freeman in the summer of 2002.

BARLIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France
Barlin is a village about 11 kilometres south-west of Bethune on the D188, between the Bethune-Arras and Bethune-St. Pol roads, about 6.5 kilometres south-east of Bruay. The BARLIN COMMUNAL CEMETERY and EXTENSION lie to the north of the village on the D171 road to Houchin.
