Spouse of Elizabeth Ashman of Port Hope, Ontario.
Private Ashman first enlisted in August 1914 and was invalided home after two years. After recovering sufficiently, he presented himself to the 136th Battalion mobilized at Port Hope and was taken on strength again. He returned to France with the 21st Battalion and was reported missing after the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
