Baptized Joseph-Arthur-Ovila Bacon. Son of Fabien Bacon (deceased in 1912) and Marie-Louise Trudel, of St-Barthélémy, Berthier, Québec.
He was reported missing on 18 September 1916, then presumed killed in action at the Battle of Courcelette on the same day. His death was confirmed on 5 July 1917.
