Son of Richard and Elizabeth Lambert, of St. John's, Newfoundland.
He was killed in action 16 August 1917, aged 16, at the Battle of Langemarck during the Passchendaele campaign.
He was among 103 Newfoundlanders who fell that day as their battalion advanced through mud and fire to capture enemy positions.

Photo of John Lambert
St. John's native, Pvte. John Lambert, a WW1 soldier of The Royal Newfoundland Regiment. He died on August 16, 1917 at the age of 17. His remains were discovered in April 2016 near Langemark, Belgium. To honour his memory, I restored and coloured his photo.
