Newspaper Clipping
This item appeared in the December 28, 1916 issue of the East Elgin Tribune newspaper (Aylmer, Ontario). (It was scanned from an original copy of the newspaper in the collection of the Aylmer & District Museum.) In 1917, Benson volunteered for the Royal Flying Corps. He was lost on a raid against Offenburg, Germany, on June 25, 1918, while flying as the observer in a DH9 bomber aircraft of 99 Squadron, Royal Air Force. -

This information from the CWGC indicates that the remains of Second Lieutenant Benson were first buried at Lahr, Germany and then moved in 1924 to the Niederzwehren Cemetery, outside Kassel, Germany.
