My Grandfather died around April 26th. 1915 and was buried with 16 of his comrades. Later, when their bodies were to be retrieved for formal interment, they could not be found, presumably because of later artillery barrages. Hence, they are remembered only by inscription on the Menin Gate as having no known grave.
