Burial/memorial information
Baptized François-Xavier-Antoine Émond. Son of Eulalie Lepage (deceased in 1904) and late François-Xavier Émond, of Lewiston, Maine. Husband of Joséphine Gauthier, of Montréal (St-Laurent), Québec, and father of five children - - Louis Joseph, Marie Lucia Evelyn, Marie Rose, Francis Joseph Albert, Blanche Alice, Joseph Trefflé François Xavier Émond.
Enlisted in the 69th Reserve Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he sailed for Great Britain on April 17, 1916, arriving in Liverpool, England, on the 27th. On September 27, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion and left Folkestone on the 28th with the 69th Battalion, landing in Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, France, the same day. He went to the front line on October 16 in Bully-Grenay. He was killed in action on August 10, 1918, during the Battle of Amiens, in Méharicourt.
