Sherbrooke Monument
Cover of the original program distributed at the unveiling of the Sherbrooke WWI memorial on November 7th, 1926, and two images of the monument. The monument was designed by Mr. G. W. Hill of Montreal, Quebec with bronze figures cast in Belgium and granite from the Stanstead district. The bronze Memorial tablet lists 249 names. -
Newspaper Clipping
Pte. Harry Oliver Long was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick. His mother, Mary Long, was living at 3 Minto St., Sherbrooke, Quebec, at the time that he enlisted in the C.E.F.. Long indicated on his attestation that he had prior experience with the Queens Own Rifles and four years with the 53rd (Sherbrooke) Regiment. His attestation was completed on June 12th, 1915 at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. This image is a typed transcription of the original articles which were in poor condition. In honoured memory. -
