Son of William Horsley Rowley and Elisa Wildman Rowley (nee Ritchie), of Ottawa, Ontario. Husband of Audrey Nora Marjorie (nee Fellows) Rowley and father of John William and Jane of Lindfield, Sussex, England. Lieutenant Colonel Rowley also served with the Canadian Army (Militia) from 30 June 1932 to 1 September 1939. As a former member of The Royal Ottawa Golf Club, Aylmer, Quebec; Lieutenant Colonel Rowley is commemorated on a plaque in the entrance to the club.
