Son of John Roy and Carrie Maud Preston, of Golden Prairie, Saskatchewan. Brother of Sergeant David Porter Preston, Regina Rifles Regiment, killed in action 30 April 1945. The Province of Saskatchewan honoured Trooper Lee Irwin Preston by adding his name to the records for Preston Lake - which was named for his brother Sergeant David Porter Preston.
