Additional information
Born in Elkhorn, Manitoba on 18 March 1919. Son of Grant Wilbur and Ellen Jane (née Millar) Sinclair of Elkhorn, Manitoba. Sgt Sinclair was a school teacher in a one room school house near Elkhorn, Manitoba prior to joining the Canadian Airforce. Brother of Ella May, born 26 January 1901 died 1957, Gregory Wilbert, born 23 May 1903 died 1982, Victor Maurice, born 6 June 1905 died 1976, William Roy, born 27 August 1908 died 1985, Jean born 1909 died 1966, Newton Wesley born 21 Jan 1913 died 22 February 2002, Rhoda born 1915 died 1960, Eva Loretta born 1916 and finally Lloyd himself. Eva Loretta is still alive and living in a nursing home in Ontario. Lloyd grew up on a farm in rural Manitoba, located just outside of Elkhorn. His parents had come to the West from Ontario with 6 children, and set up on the homestead. They had a mixed farm, specializing in pigs. Newton Wesley stayed behind to care for the family farm when his father passed away and Lloyd joined the airforce. The family went into town every Saturday, as was the custom in a rural community, where they would spend the day playing, getting caught up on the gossip, and shopping for essentials. They all would dress in their finest clothing, and make a day of it - often not getting home until well after midnight. The highlight was a weekly dance, that all attended.

BERLIN 1939-1945 WAR CEMETERY Germany

The BERLIN 1939-1945 WAR CEMETERY is in the district of Charlottenburg, 8 kilometres west of the city centre, on the south side of the Heerstrasse.

From Theodor Heuss Platz in the district of Charlottenburg near the exhibition hall complex and next to the Olympic stadium, follow signs for Spandau, proceeding along the Heerstrasse. The Cemetery lies on the Heerstrasse on the left hand side of the road and 3 kilometres from Theodor Heuss Platz.

Visitors should drive beyond the BERLIN 1939-1945 WAR CEMETERY to the traffic lights, then turn left directly onto a small one way street running parallel to the Heerstrasse. The Cemetery entrance is on this small one way road.
