Son of Martin Williams. Husband of Josephine Joyette of 14, Vernay Street, Port Louis, Mauritius.

On 13 April 1917, the Kariba was en route from Java, Indonesia, Dakar, Senegal, to Falmouth, England, when she was torpedoed by UC-27 260 miles (419 km) west-north-west of Ouessant, west of Brittany, France, position 48°30'N/11°28'W. Of the crew, 13 lost their lives. The ship was officially declared missing on the 15th.
