Photo of George Washington Caldwell
Photo of George Washington Caldwell, born July 4th 1886 in Ottawa, Illinois, USA. When he learned that his kid brother Wesley was about to enrol in the Canadian Army, he left the USA to enrol also. George was in the trenches in Belgium when Wesley was shot to the head, the bullet going through his helmet. He died instantly next to George. George was killed 6 months later in France, meanwhile he had been promoted Lance Serjeant. -
