Burial/memorial information
Enlisted for the first time on 14 November 1914 with the 4th Ambulance of the Canadian Medical Army Corps in Montreal, Quebec, he served for three months. Enlisted a second time on 24 August 1915 with the 69th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he embarked at St. John's, New Brunswick, on 17 April 1916 and disembarked on the 27th at Liverpool, England. He was transferred to the 22nd Battalion on 21 June. He went to the front line on 13 July 1916. Reported missing in action on 15 September 1916 during the Battle of Courcelette, France, he was confirmed dead on 11 August 1917.

His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
