Burial/memorial information

Additional information
Baptized Joseph-Lucien-Évano Lemay-dit-Delorme. Son of Amable Lemay-dit-Delorme and Émelie Tessier, of Montréal, Québec. He stated being born on 7 January 1892 when he enlisted.

He also declared and signed « Ivano » as his first name; this was then interpreted by the authorities as « Ivanhoë ». The 1901 and 1911 censuses clearly indicate that his usual first name is « Lucien ». He is inscribed as « Ivano » in the Book of Remembrance.

A carter, he enlisted with the 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. On May 29, 1915, he landed in Plymouth, England, and on September 15 in Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, France. Reported missing in action at Brickfields during the Battle of Courcelette between September 14 and 18, 1916, he was declared killed in action on September 17, 1916.
