The photo was to be believed to have been taken in Hamilton, Ontario prior to WW1 while he was in the reserves with the 92nd Battalion. Robert was later transferred to the 13th Battalion and was lost at Regina Trench, October 8, 1916. -
Inscription
His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial (2010). Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
