Identity Disc
While sorting through the effects of my grandfather, 65298 Sgt William Julien Dwyer, I found this I.D. disc of Lawrence Ferguson. I cannot verify how he came to be in possession of this disc, as he died in 1921 as a result of gas damage to his lungs & is also listed in this Memorial. However, they both enlisted in Montreal at about the same time & I would guess they trained together or were comrades in arms. There is also a possibility that William found it somewhere on the battlefield, particularly in view of Lawrence's body remaining undiscovered. -
