Memorial
A fieldstone cairn in Tisdale, SK was unveiled in 1931 by a local mother of three soldiers killed during the First World War. Mrs. J.B. Sleight was the mother of Private Sidney Grant Sleight who died on May 8, 1917; Private Walter Sleight who died on June 6, 1916; and Private William Osmund Sleight who died on November 6, 1917. The three soldiers served with the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment). This memorial was originally dedicated to the local war dead of the First World War. A plaque was added later to commemorate the local losses of the Second World War. http://www.cmp-cpm.forces.gc.ca/dhh-dhp/nic-inm/sm-rm/mdsr-rdr-eng.asp?PID=1214 -
