Photo of William Gilbert May
Rifleman "Gil" May enlisted in The Queen's Own Rifles in June 1940 in the Band. He served with the Regiment in Newfoundland, New Brunswick and in England. When the Band was broken up, he became a stretcher-bearer. Rifleman May was killed at Bernieres-sur-mer on Juno Beach on D-Day. -
