Baptized Joseph-Louis-Philippe-Odilon Bourassa. Son of Philippe Bourassa and Marie-Clara Bellefeuille, of Morinville, Alberta.
He stated being born in 1895 when he enlisted. After serving several months at the front, he was repatriated and released due to a chronic nephrite. He died 18 months later of this illness caused by his war service.
Enlisted on 6 June 1916 with the 233rd Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Embarked for England on 3 March 1917 with the 178th Battalion. On the 15th he was posted to the 10th Reserve Battalion. On 27 May 1917, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion and sent to France on the 28th. Ill on 28 January 1918, he was repatriated to Canada on 24 September, where he died.
