The inscription reads [with slash marks added to indicate divisions between lines]: "ERIC C. G. WYCKOFF / R.N.C.V.R. / GRANDSON OF JAS & MARY MANNELL / BORN JULY 3, 1899 / DIED JUNE 9, 1917 / IN THE ROYAL NAVAL / HOSPITAL PLYMOUTH / ENGLAND. / HIS DUTY NOBLY DONE". Note that on this monument Ord Smn Wychoff's surname appears as "Wyckoff." (Image taken by Gregory J. Barker of Barrie, Ontario, in 2012.
