Burial/memorial information
On 30 April 1917, the Horsa was en route from Port Breira, Algeria, to Cardiff, Wales, when she was torpedoed by U-93 195 miles (314 km) west-south-west of Fastnet Rock lighthouse, south-east of Ireland, position 48°43'N/12°35'W. Eleven sailors lost their lives, including the captain, and one gunner was taken prisoner of war.
