Burial/memorial information
On 7 January 1918, the Arab was en route from Cardiff, Wales, to Messina, Sicily, when she was torpedoed by UB-50 18 miles (29 km) north-east of Cape Serrat, Tunisia, in the Mediterranean, position 37°28'N/09°23'E. The captain survived, but 21 sailors lost their lives.
