Husband of Mary Jane Croll, of Liverpool, Lancashire, England.
On 17 April 1917, the Aburi was heading for the African coast when it was torpedoed by U-61 125 miles (201 km) north-west of Tory Island, England, and sank with 25 crew members. Her captain survived.
